for the first time in months I decided to look at these.
Once upon a time they were full of entertaining and intelligent discussion.
Now they aren't, how did that happen?
Did CA crack down on forum members who dared say that CA were not the greatest thing since sliced bread, they could have been but they blew their chance?

I read a few posts, rolled my eyes alot and came back here.

I'd just been checking for official news of BI, nothing much at the moment.

They cracked down to the point that there was no reason to post there. People that actually knew something about the game quit posting there, so it is mainly the newbie masses. It never was really "highbrow" anyway.

As an example, I just looked and people don't even seem to be aware of the genesis of the 1.2 horse archer fix or its solution. Sad. The same old tired questions, and not many informed types to answer them.

Heh. Yeah, the 1.2 horse archers were a mess. Thank god you can trick them into thinking that they're javilen throwers, so they can work properly.

Yes, it is true. When some one says "Is there a fix for the horse archer bug?", some one will answer "Learn how to use them you n00b"

"Why do you have to unlock factions?" "For the same reason that you have to unlock characters in action games"

Or they might say "Stop cheating and unlock them the hard way"

and every day some one asks the question "How to unlock fractions?" (Yes, they do spell it "fractions")

I see absolutely no reason why this thread should be in the Backroom. As we already had enough threads in the "Colosseum" complaining about RTW, CA or totalwar.com, I also see no reason to move it there and duplicate existing threads.
