How do I adopt Epona?

In another thread it was said that as Romans you can adopt Epona, the Gallic Goddess, but in the game I captured Numantia and Osca, and yet I can't upgrade the the sacred groves of Epona in those cities.

So how do I adopt the Goddess?

You have to capture a Gallic of Spainish minor city with the level 3 temple of Epona built them at the huge city level you get a Roman version of the temple.

Thanks, so I have to upgrade the city to be able to build Eponas next level temple.

If its not a sacred grove of epona when you capture it, theres nothing you can do with it.Romans can only upgrade a Sacred Temple of Epona. If you haven't invested to much into the cities and if it isn't strategically dangerous, you might want to give the cities back to their original owners and leave a spy in them. Then, once they one day build the Sacred Temple, recapture them. If you can, give them both back to one faction and ask for peace. If the faction is at war with you it'll take them forever to get the population up. Otherwise, get the city up to 6000+ population, build the governors house (or whichever one it is for 6000 population) and then give them back.

Then that means in my Scipii Campaign I can't adopt Epona. I killed off the Spanish and got the two cities with the Sacred Grove of Epona, and the Julii eliminated the Gauls.

So I can't upgrade the Sacred Grove/Circle whichever one it is?

You can upgrade Sacred Circle of Epona

You can't upgrade Shrine and Sacred Grove of Epona.

If the Gauls and Spain are both already gone then look at it as a learning experience.

Ok, I guess I learned a lesson in how to treat Epona.

it's not a super huge deal /game breaker if you don't Epona. its just nice to be able to train reinforcements that don't take forever to level up. then again, you can just save and reload botched battles so you won't ever need reinforcements, but in my view that takes certain experinces away from the game.

If you can't get exp it doesn't really hurt that much--Dacian Zalmoxis is next best with upgrades for weaponry. Quite sweet.

Is there a way for me to mod it so I could adopt Epona at the second level Barbarian Temple?
