I like cooking some pasta and then while it is warm adding some tuna flakes and chopped onions, tomato, cucumber and egg with a dash of mayonaisse.

I'm sorry to be so pedantic, but octopi is not the correct plural of octopus (since octopus is a greek word, not latin). The accepted plurals are octopuses (English plural) and octopodes (the Greek plural).

But the spell checker said it was correct.

The spell checker's not very good...

Not that it really matters which plural you use. In fact, some dictionaries even list octopi as a correct plural, simply because it has been misused so many times.
