    Default Officer sprites?

Hi, Mod noob here... was messing around with skins and stuff, mostly with greeks... question, how do you change the greek officer sprite that shows up with the first unit(general) of your army? I dont know which sprite/textures the game uses for that guy, anyone know offhand?

Generals (also called "characters" or "named characters" in the files) and captains (also called "lesser generals" or "generals" in the files) have their models specified in data\descr_character.txt. The models referred to are contained within descr_model_strat.txt (for the strategic/world-map models) and descr_model_battle.txt (for the battle-map models). The model entries in those two files specify the locations of animations, skins, and sprites. Officers, by the way, are separate from those two—they're attached to specific units, specified in export_descr_unit.txt (which refer to their models in DMB.txt).

Awesome, thanks for the info, helped a ton... one more question for ya.. how does the game determine which units each faction will use as the general units? I would like to play around with that and switch up on the cavalry/infantry for some factions

The unit that each faction uses for its general is the first unit in data\export_descr_unit.txt with the general_unit attribute that the faction in question has ownership of. After the Marian reforms, the general is the first unit in EDU.txt with the general_unit_upgrade attribute that the faction has ownership of, or the first with general_unit if none with general_unit_upgrade exist.

Question: is it possible to have a different captain/general MODEL after the marian reform?

I'm not aware that it is, the general_unit, general_unit_upgrade tag only applies in edu and the captain/general model isn't defined there, only in dmb AFAIK.
