If you pressed PrintScreen, something did happen.

Go to your C: Drive. Go to Program Files. Go to Activision. Go to Rome Total War. Go to tgas. In there, all your screenshots are saved.

Unfrtunately, they are saved as .tga files and won't always work. This is why you may have to download a screenshot tool.

The way I do it is usually I turn on minimal UI for the best screenies, then go into the game and hit the key that says prt scr and under that sys rq. This button is above insert, to the right of F12 and left of scroll lock.

Next pause and hit alt tab. Then enter paint and hit ctrl+v and your screenshot will appear.

    i wonder

in medieval you could hide the ui so you could take screenies

surely they made the same for Rome....

I found that Ctrl - Alt - Print Screen creates an image on the clipboard. You can then paste that into paint either by quitting Rome or alt-tab out of the application. Works a treat on my system with no extra app's.

PrintScreen should create a .tga in the Screenshots folder. They can be opened in Photoshop. There are free programs that can open them too.

ok....press..PrtScr (the key between F12 and Scroll Lock) (to take the screenie)...go to desktop...Start-Programs-Accessories-Paint

In Paint click Edit click Paste. There is your screenshot. Save and give it a name. It should then be saved in My Pictures.

Move it from My Pictures to tga folder after.

    Hope this helps.

Barocca in the preferences.txt file change Minimal_UI to TRUE and you will get as close as possible to no UI.

    yep.
    close.

but seeing they gave the capability to Shogun and Medieval i am quite sure it must also be in Rome somewhere

Maybe there's some way to do that in the console but I haven't heard of it.

Maybe with a special debug/development code? But I don't see what the benefit of it would be (for the developers).

I'm pretty sure there was a way to do it but it's disabled. I get this from the FAQ:

Q There are many console commands that can only be accessed by scripting, but not with in-game console menu. What was reasoning for this? Any chance to get all of them "unlocked" in expansion (good for MOD testing).

    A. Some can, some can't. And yes, there were reasons: console commands that can be accessed by scripting were needed for the prologue; those that weren't, can't. It's unlikely that the console commands will change much for the expansion. We're not doing another prologue because if you get BI you already know how to play the game and have played the prologue anyway.

Time Commanders used the RTW engine, but I think that it had quite a lot of modification done to it before it was used in the programme.

Yes, you´re right, it should, but as it would seem, it doesn´t always. I´m using fraps, it´s a free screenshot software.

banners you can remove - simply find the files for them and make them transparent,

the UI - we are still trying to find a way to "hide" it
    - odd , because you could hide it in all previous TotalWar Releases,
