Default The Moderates Club Members List

    As requested here

    From Wikipedia
In politics and religion, a moderate is an individual who holds an intermediate position between those generally classified as being left-wing or liberal and those seen as being right-wing, conservative, or fundamentalist.
If you find yourself sometimes agreeing with the "Right" and sometimes the "Left", you are not a fence-sitter, but a moderate. i.e. you can see boths points of view. If you can see both sides of the Left and the Right. Place yourself in this group by asking for admittance.

If you like Think of yourself on a scale of 1 to 9 with 1 = Liberal and 9 = Conservative (1-3 Liberal, 4-6 Moderate, 7-9 Conservative)

No i started all three , conservative, liberal and moderate clubs at the sametime. Of course the libs compained that they wouldnt use a club I started so they started their own. The moderates used their for a day or two. Again only the conservative club has remained a constant. You should have seen the post count in the original one.

No, the liberals seem to be quite happy to identify themselves. But I would be ashamed to be a conservative anymore, as I've seen the hind end of conservatism enough lately that I've grown quite tired of it.

Sign me up for the moderate club.

Membership to the moderate club is restricted to people who specifically ask to be admitted. I await that request.

    And wait you shall

You see I at least am honest about where I stand. We all think we look at bothsides and are moderate in our views except maybe Navaros and Jag. But I believe even they think theve looked at bothsides and thiers is the only logical conclusion. Moderate means either you blow with the wind or your a liberal. Now I would consider the DON to bea very moderate person but with a definite conservtive vantage point. I doubt he will want to join your club though as us conservatives are damn proud to be called Conservatives.

They are the Orgs odd couple...

If the extremists of all parties (left, right, pro-gun, anti-gun, etc.) tick you off, ou're probably guilty of being a moderate.

If listening to eco-nazis makes your blood boil, you're probably a moderate.

If listening to theocons makes your blood boil, you're probably a moderate.

If gross slanders of wide swaths of the citizenry tick you off, you're probably a moderate.

If simplistic agendas that consist of blaming all the world's ills on a single cause or group strike you as childish, you're probably a moderate.

If the politics of outrage and victimization (right and left, respectively) make your teeth ache, you're probably a moderate.

If you believe that no human institution should be destroyed or subverted without a clear understanding of what function that institution was serving, you're a moderate.

If the extreme Right and extreme Left seem to blend before your eyes into a single ugly animal, you're a moderate.

    I could go on ...

P.S.: I often feel "moderate rage." Any moderate should be able to recognize this -- when I hear or read some demagogue of the left or right making huge, sweeping arguments that boil all the complexity of life into a simple, catchy, wrong conclusion, I just want to grab the author by the neck and give him or her a shake.

A further fact about American-style moderation: It's what makes this country great. All around this great nation, we have a defense against idealogues, demagogues, idealists and snake-oil salesmen of many stripes. They come into town with the blogs and their talk shows, spouting off the latest party line like they invented it, and we moderates have an ancient and glorious defense:

"Hey buddy, what's the big idea?"

Yes, this is the ultimate, zen-like wisdom of the Moderate. Big Ideas kill people and destroy nations. Communism was a Big Idea. Fascism was a Big Idea. Wahhabism and Salafism are Big Ideas.

If I had been alive in the '60s, when the Left was having its heyday, I'm sure I would have been instinctively grumpy at the pogressive, hippie scum. They had way too many Big Ideas, and I have no doubt that my moderate tendencies would have forced me to lean rightward for the entire decade. Now the Right is rolling in its own triumphalism, and they're absolutely full of Big Ideas. Any moderate worthy of the label distrusts these movements and views them with a fishy eye.

So, as part of Moderate Rage Week, we ought to look at the blatant partisanship and polarized dialogues of the Backroom, and say with one voice, "What's the big idea?"

Actually, if you consider yourself as a "moderate" and you know if you are by your own definition or not, you can ask for admittance to the list. i.e. you are identifying yourself to others that you are "moderate".

NOTE: I have modified my definition using "wikipedia"

This would make you an imbecile, not a moderate.

If PETA, NRA, Rush, or Franken, are the things you get upset about, you are a jack ass. They represent no real threat to anyone, and are only there for cheerleaders and straw-man construction.

Moderates are just as stupid as either extreme, only more self-righteous.

You are declaring you are a "Moderate" as defined above ? If so, yes you can join. Type "I wish to be admitted to the moderate club members list". Note: Any protests by existing members will be taken into consideration and your membership will be reviewed.

I suspect you will change your title "Konservativer Krieger" to show your moderation.

Though im a liberal on many issues, and not ashamed of it Gawain , I do side with the conservatives on some issues. I am also kinda of sad with the way all of america's political parties are going and dont really "like" any of them.

If the defintion at the top is what you refer to I must once again submit that everyone at the org is a moderate. It certainly applies to me. Again the difference is we conservatives can tell right from wrong and are proud to be conservatives. We dont want to be labled as moderates. Moderates never get you anywhere. Its the radicals that lead to change.

Wow so most people claim to be in the middle. Startling. I never would have guessed. Of course most people will claim to look at all sdes of the issue. Thats my point. We all think we do that. I dont go oh a conservative said that so its correct. Though many here, yes even members of this club have said you cant believe it if a conservative is the source.

Again polls and their statistics can be used to prove what ever you like. You could say 75% of americans are right of liberals these days from reading this poll.

Gawian, i dont think most people are moderates cause they can look at both sides of the issue. I consider myself a moderate cause i stand with the conservatives on certain issues even though i am much more towards being a liberal,no same , than to being a conservative.
