    Question Ton polemon logoi

It may sound strange, but this was a book written by Procopius of Cezareea about the wars with the Longobards of the Byzantines....

    Anyone know anything more?!

Well the actual title is "Yper ton Polemon Logoi" (Υπέρ των Πολέμων Λόγοι) , indeed written by Procopius of Caesaria (in Palestine) and they recount the most important evens of the Justinian period, up to 554 AD. Procopius himself held the post of consiliarium and after some years he reached the class of the illustres. His account of military events in this work (comprised of 8 books) is particularly important, as he had followed Belisarius in his campaigns and was a close and trusted advisor of the successful general.
Specifically regarding military events, he describes the wars against the Vandals, the Goths and the Persians. He also mentions disasters such as the plague of 542 in Constantinople.

---I got more detailed info on Procopius and his works, if you 're searching for something in particular just give a yell

If you know greek, then there are a few sites out there that offer a plethora of info, a good and concise one on byzantine literature, including historiography that I suppose interests you most is http://pegasos.fhw.gr/projects/coope.../gr/index.html

But I'd go with the classical books anytime ofcourse;)

The best source for anything Greek, not exactly the most detailed in terms of an outlined history, but it gives great insight into the politics, culture, arts, and economy of pretty much every single section of Greek history and has plenty on the Byzantine Empire (early, middle and late):

    http://www.ime.gr/chronos/en/

Click and choose my friend, the only thing is that since this is the english translation of the site it still lacks some of the smaller parts that the original version in Greek has, but it isn't missing anything major.

    Enjoy. :)

Heh, that's the same site I recommended, didn't I think it had any english translation for most subjects, but seems I'm wrong about this.
It's the site of a state sponsored institution (Ίδρυμα Μείζονος Πολιτισμού) , pretty objective and accurate, can't find many continuity-of-the-nation stuff that is;)

Here's another link if the above doesn't work for you:

    Thanks for that.

I've found out about this book, because I am reading a very very detailed history of the Byzantium which is about 400 pages(small writing), so, about 800 pages. As I continue reading, I find out more about old books. So, there are gonna be many questions.
