Spartan Hoplites Bug

Hi, I had a bug playing as a greek.
I´m only able to build the spartan hoplite in a few cities, by now I had conquered all mediterranean and about 30 provinces and i have many cities with all barracks updates and I´m unable to build the spartan hoplites. I only can built it in Sparta and Siracuse. can anyone helpme. thakns

It's not a bug.

It's a deliberate bit of gameplay.

You can only recruit Spartans in those two regions. Outside of those 2 regions, the people laugh and bully them about their stupid red dresses, which upsets them somewhat, and makes them refuse to come out and play. That's the 100% truthful* reasoning behind them not being recruitable anywhere else.

*May not be wholly accurate

you can get spartans in syracruse sick i thought it was only in sparta k now i can get more thanks wish i new this earlier my campaign would of been completly different

Personally, I dont understand why you can get Spartans in Syracuse, but I dont need a history lesson. I'm content with the decision because Sparta absolutely positively SUCKS when it comes to population growth (it already has a Temple of Nike when it NEEDS a Temple of Aphrodite).

Sparta and Syracuse were historically close together. See the Peloponnesian War, and the Spartan-Syracusan alliance to defeat Athens. That was the largest Spartan army ever sent overseas sp I'm guessing that was what made CA do this.

Sorry, I know you said you don't need a history lesson, but. :-) I believe, though, that Spartans should be available everywhere since if you conquered them you would impliment your own system on them, would you not?

or they accidentally put the spartanresource in syracuse. you can easily fix this if you dont like it.

Who the Heck would wanna fix that, Sparts are great and they saved my Butt couple of times in Battles were egypt out# me. I say the more Sparts the better.

I believe they only sent a few boats with a few officers and some general to go over and train the the army of Syracuse and then the army won under the command of the Spartan general. Though I could be sadly mistaken and be thinking of some other battle.

I believe you're right, the Spartan force was only a few hundred. But that sorta warranted close ties between the two since a few hundred was a pretty big force considering the Athenians only had 4000 max on the island at that time.

But I suppose it counts as the largest Spartan overseas land expedition, and I guess the mods wanted to give you more alternatives.
