Tips on how to attract a girl

Wow, loads of tips. I've not read it thoroughly, but I don't think anyone's mentioned poetry..........does no one here think that writing poems or quoting Byron time to time will help?

Poetry is alright, I've used it a couple times. Some girls reckon your a know-it-all or a typical nice guy and ignore you. Others find it intriguing.

I have heard the whole act unintrested line 1000s of times, maybe someone could just explain how you pull off this whole unintrested thing and make it successful. Let me clarify, Grizzy has partially gone past caring so im sure i walk around with a permanent air of distintrest, i have never asked a girl out, initiated a conversation or physical contact with a girl (bar simple requests like borrow pencil, where do i find the magazines) it even got to the point where one girl who im friends with decided i was gay.

Ok, thread necromancy again. My time to vent.

I like a really nice girl in the school. She's been single the entire year, and although she is with the party group, she stands out because she is much more moderate(she rarely drinks, doesn't smoke) and she really is something special.

Now, the problem is, my roommate spilled the beans and now the entire school knows I like her. That blew everything I had in mind. For some unknown reason, I haven't been able to talk to her at all (unusually shy - something odd at Mr. Big Mouth).

Now, what should I have done?
This summer i'm taking off my glasses, which make me look like a stupid nerd, and I will seriously work out so I can be proud of my six pack when I swim. For sure I will go for her when I come back to school, so I'll suffer a bit for 2 months while I'm on vacation.

But what should I have done before? How detrimental is when someone spills the beans and she finds out about it? And how do I get to the point where she starts taking me seriously, because I'm afraid of overdoing it and I'll end up being the guy who's gonna console her when somebody else dumped her!

I want an edyzmedieval for my birthday. Maybe he unintentionally did you a favor. Wouldn't be too agressive if she already knows you like her, sounds like a baby-steps case watch for signals. In particular, I have a really good friend who happens to be a girl, more because she has a boyfriend and I found out before it was too late (no thanks to her, her mother told me). However she spends a fair amount of the time, not really complaining about her boyfriend, but criticising him. Now I pride myself on being as fair as possible, but eventually it comes down to the fact that I genuinely think she deserves better. Seen as I have less than zero confidence, (and this guy is twice the size of me, I'd kill him at any competitive sport, but he's big), I haven't said anything, yet.

Now just to complicate things she's going to Europe for at least a few months, maybe longer if things work out for her. Excellent, and good for her. Her boyfriend is going with her for a few weeks and then coming back here to 'await developments'.

So pretty much I don't know whether to tell her what I think.

And apologies for being off-topic.

If not to the point at hand. Talk to her ASAP. It's all well and good saying that your taking your glasses off and working out and you're going to look like Adonis in a few months... not going to happen. If she doesn't like you for who you are then it's not going to last.

Go for it edyz, really. Don't believe the "act cool and disinterested" crap. Smile at her, be friendly, if you have the opportunity, behave like a gentleman (open the door for her, help her carrying something). Try to make some jokes about the gossiping going on about the two of you. Let her know by your behaviour and witty remarks that going out with you will at least be fun. And once you get her smiling or laughing, ask her out.
