    - to see how much powerful the huns will be
    - to see that is realy true that will be a intro movie for every single faction
    - the new units special powers
    - to see the religion importance
    - to conquer the world all over again with the western romans including conquering and destroying the huns !!!

I'm fairly new to the game, and I don't feel like I've explored enough of RTW to get super-excited about the expansion pack. There are still a lot of factions I haven't tried playing yet. So normally I wouldn't jump right on the exansion pack.... unless.... they manage to improve the battle AI. That's the one thing that would get me whipping out the credit card right away. It would be nice to see the AI treat its army like a cohesive whole, instead of the disjointed "every unit for himself" feel of the current AI. So that's what I'm looking forward to, if they can pull it off (and I know AI programming isn't easy).

Okay, I guess I'm also curious about what the night battles will look like. I wasn't happy to hear about that feature at first. I play the game in the daytime sometimes in a brightly lit room, and I don't enjoy games that are too dark on my monitor to see anything. But the screen shots look pretty nice so far. Hopefully they've found a way to make things visible without losing the feel of night time completely.

-Having nice challenging battles without forcing the AI to get attack and morale bonuses (Playing on VH, in other words)
-Night battles in the campaign game
-New units, and new tactics that have to go along with them
    -New factions, naturally
-To conquer the world, of course!

-How much the AI has improved
    -The new features
-The mods that will come after it(such as NTW 2)

Well I look forward to more challenging gameplay (loadgame and battle difficulty bugs fixes).

As well as to some features of expansion, like hordes, loyalty, Slavs as faction...

Civil wars sound like they could be good, as long as they're not used like MTWs factions reappearing. That is to say, as a cheap trick to prolong a campaign.

Thinking about it, the info when moving the cursor over a unit in MTW was useful. Like "worried about flanks" or "pleased to hold the high ground" kind of things.

I'm looking forward to smashing those christians and restoring the old religions to prosperity.

RTW, 167 BC: Rome expels Greek philosophers after the Lex Fannia law is passed. This bans the effete and nasty Greek practice of 'philosophy' in favour of more manly, properly Roman pursuits that don't involve quite so much thinking.

The loyalty, civil wars, and emerging factions. This is what comes to mind when I think of Roman politics, and hey it might even be fun having an upstart general trying to take the throne from my iron grasp . Besides that using diplomacy to set those barbarians against each other and re uniting rome under my rule and restoring the empire to its former glory.

Oh man, upon seeing this thread, that was one of the first things that came to mind about what I missed from M:TW, I was just about to post it right after reading the thread. Any chance we can have alliances forged/strengthened by marriage between the 2 factions?

Anyway I'm really looking forward to civil wars, new faction emergence, and improved AI. If you guys can pull off a better battle AI you'll have my money.

Wow. I really need to play the other TWs. I came in because I am such a fan of classical history. The ability to tell what the units are concerned about would be helpful in order to direct attacks, though, it does remove the feeling of not knowing.

I am looking forward to being able to reinstitute the old religions and see the Eastern Roman Empire implement cataphracts and/or other cavalry units.
