Now, now, that's not what I mean!

Anyway, the newer articles start mentioning some new things, and this thread is about the possibilities inherent in Endurance and Discipline, and how they might work with other factors already in the game. There's already a thread (and a good one!) about the new units, and you guys can start another one for the new dojo's, etc.

Endurance could be the rate at which your fatigue changes. A high E unit can run farther before becoming tired, and can recover more quickly.

Discipline is more questionable. My opinion is that this is how morale changes. Right now with morale, "impetuous" can sometimes override your control of the unit - they won't stop chasing a fleeing unit, or will charge headlong into a hopeless battle. "Wavering" troops are less likely to look for new opponents to attack, and may need a Rally to keep in line. Perhaps discipline will alter how long it takes your morale to change? A high-D unit would remain Steady a lot longer, and would be easier to Rally. They are more likely to hold the line in the face of overwhelming odds.

    Any other guesses?

"Endurance could be the rate at which your fatigue changes"
I don't think because there is already something like that. A naginata unit become tired faster that ashigaru who recover faster that the other units. The rate of change of fatigue (which is different for each unit) is already managed by the game.

Maybe "Endurance" is a factor which could "defend" an unit: if a soldier take a hit, "endurance" is used to determine if the soldier die or not? (Something like armor but for the unarmor units)

I wonder if "Discipline" could also affect how quickly a unit can reorganize itself, like changing facing, or formation. Maybe a unit can disengage from a melee easier (I like that).

I think the discipline part will be the added ability of having your taisho spank naughty warriors to motivate not only the culprit himself, but to thwart such actions from the rest of the army...
