    Default javalineers

hi, i was just lookign out teh window. and i thought up this Q:

1how will EB handle ranges between normal javelineers and mounted (prodromoi or so) saying footmen got X throwing power, cav got about 1/2 X (he has no saddle and has difficulty putting his body behind the throw).
but the horse travells at a speed of 30 km/h (guessing) the mounted one should have a bigger range, plus teh fact he throw it from a 'higher' place.

2the porblem wiht this ( in game) is that teh only way to portrait this is by giving militia-cav a bigger range. wich leads to teh buggy fact that cavalry can stop, and keep on throwing at a javelineer withotu beiing in range itself.

how will EB solve this, or am i wrong t point 1 or 2?

wich bring me to another part, hwo will EB handle ammo. A horse rider can't carry 12 javelins, wich it does. so realistic it shoudl be less. but then again the units in RTW represent more men, so for that it is realistic. wich of these stands will EB pick ( in the mod, not personal)

Yes, the horse may be higher but the fact that the infantryman is on stable ground means that he can put more weight behind the throw. Plus what would you think would be easier throwing from on foot or on a horse? I personally would prefer the ground as you know you would not fall off. While the horses speed makes it good for charges, it also makes it much more difficult to aim, and the rider also has to concentrate on keeping in position with his group. I think that the infantry should have longer ranges and be more accurate, but should be less potent in hand-to-hand combat. But still the cavalry man's speed will no doubt be attractive.

What i mean is that while the horse travels 35 km/h (or so) the javelin also travels that fast+the throw energy. assuming the rider can throw while driving.
also, throwing from horseback is easier with a saddle. so sadled-javelineer-cav should throw further than normal ( IF EB features saddles)

If heavy cavalry could manage to remain saddled whilst driving a 12' kontos through someones' mail clad chest whilst charging them at near full tilt {which might be slow for the heaviest Katatank , but most kontos weilding cavalry seems to have been lighter and swifter} then I cannot percieve any reason they couldn't manage to maintain a firm purchase on their horse whilst imparting considerable energy to their javlins at a modest gallop .
The Numidians certainly seemed to be capable of this .

If there was any practical differance in distance Cavalry Vs. Infantry could hurl javlins , it would likely be negligable provided the Cavalry had room to make a short run up . Think of a circular approach to the toss similar to how a highjumper {human on foot , not equestrian} performs like this halfarsed diagram where the curve is the path the rider takes , the lines is the javilns flightpath and nought is the target )----0

I'm not going to change for the other three .
