EDIT: Whoa, I posted exactly at 00:00!

Worst excuse for not changing the name ever. They ewre simply lazy in the first place. To much time spent watching Gladiator as research....

I don't usually care about mmorpgs but this one looks very promising. Maybe too
    good to be true.
Does anyone know how much this will cost per month?

It's scheduled to come out before the end of year but there has been no confirmation so far, just need to suck it and see. There is no monthly cost but you will be able to purchase in game money to help your character, only money will be available to buy not equipment or materials. The idea is intriguing but whether it works or not is still to be seen.

As for the name, if you read the forums you will see that they are quite aware of what the proper Latin is but they chose to call it Victor as they thought it sounded better and most of the people asked preferred Victor.

There isn't any magic as such but certain individuals may be able to ask for favours from the Gods. The asking favours is well within the realms of reasonableness (Is that a word?) the granting of those favours is somewhat artistic license.

But I think what it comes down to is that the game, like all MMORPG's, will be what the community make it. Anyway, I intend to play it and hopefully I'll see some of you there.

I'll see you there Ja'chyra.. Planned where you're going to start out? I'll be starting in Britain, if possible...

Two questions you might know the answer to:

    1) Are there ways of getting money in the game without purchasing it? Or is it all bartering? Like item for item, rather than money for item? I assume you can, but if you want a bit of cash to play with, you pay up to RedBedlam? (I might donate, I think those guys deserve it).

    2) Will you be able to sail around the world? Say you start in Britain, would it be possible to get to Gaul, or maybe sail to Spain? It says in the FAQ that sailing is a possible expansion feature... But I assume you must be able to get off the island somehow? I'm thinking that the boats are currently controlled by NPC's? But, they might let PC's control them in the expansion?

Anyone else that can answer these questions, please respond.

    Thanks.

how could I have missed this ?

This kind of reminds me of Mount&Blade, and if it's anything like it , as it seemes to be , I'll definately give it a go.

Have to figure out where to start et al, probably Holland or Rome ;)

PS : on the site I read about the ability to built your own cities/communities... now how are you going to make that work?

    1. It has been said that you wont have to purchase money but you'll need to work hareder if you don't.

    2. Sailing isn't in atm, but I think there'll be NPC boats for travelling.

I am still considering starting in Britain, maybe as a Roman.

p.s. You'll need to excuse the time taken to answer, I broke my collarbone on Friday

Ive just been reading about the creations of guild, cults etc in the game, does anyone think it would be a good idea if all the people from the org who buy and play the game create our own guild? I think it would be very cool.

Depends really, on where everyone wants to start and if they are Barbs or Roman.

    I'm open to suggestions though.

Apparently, "fall" is until the end of December. Crazy Americans and their crazy seasons...

Anyway, I think it will be out sometime next spring. A finished game then is better than an unfinished game now.

It's actually an English firm that's making the game, all the speculation is because they haven't updated the expected release date in quite some while though I suspect it will be delayed by quite a few months.

Oh well, I've gone back to Eve.
