I've searched for this on the forum but couldn't find anything, so apologies if I'm missing anything obvious but...is there anywhere a complete list of the Glorious Achievement goals for every faction in every era? There are some factions I haven't played through into the Late era but I would be interested in doing so if they had a particularly cool GA to fulfil!
Thanks

I don’t know of a list but when I am playing I sometimes look in the GA screen and click the other factions to see what their goals are.

This works great

. Sometimes a faction will really fight hard to regain
their homelands

.
Off the top of my n00b head...
Homelands (All)
Conquest (All)
Crusade for Edessa, Palestine, Tripoli, Antioch etc... (Various Catholic)
The Grand Mosque (Turkish)
The Iberian Peninsula (Spanish)
Can anyone add to it?
Trade, dominate 2/3s of the trade orr make 6000 florins per turn from trade or something
build more buildings in one city than anywhere else.
littlebktruck 04:45 07-29-2005
Hanseatic League (HRE late) - Control 2/3 of the North Sea trade.
Productivity 08:16 07-29-2005
Jihad for Asia (Muslims) - Take various provinces via Jihad
Kalmar Union (Denmark) - Points awarded for trade amounts
Jagellonian (spelling?) University (Poland) - A university in Poland
Notre Dame Cathedral (France) - A cathedral in Ile de France
The Albigensian Cruade (France) - Incite some southern french provinces to revolt, then crusade to them
Others when I have more time.

We also have the Grand Mosque - Egypt.
Barbarossa82 14:53 07-29-2005
Drang Nach Osten (Holy Roman Empire) - conquest to the East
Wool Monopoly (England) - control most of the Wool trade
Sante-Chapelle (France) - build a reliquary in Ile-de-France
Iberian Spanish/Almohad Civilisation (Spanish/Almohads) - more than 30 buildings/upgrades in some Spanish provinces
Subdue Scotland (England) - subjugate the haggis-munchers

I had no idea of these

. That is good to know.

Look in your ....\Medieval - Total War\Loc\Eng directory and open
glorygoals.txt
There they are, all of them. Some of them dont work, most notably the Ibero-Spanish civilization, as the game doesnt recognize upgrades, and its impossible to get 30 distinctively different buildings.
The crusades work with a work around, see my reply in the other thread about "GA/Crusade pt problems".

Now there's a challenge. Here goes...
EDIT: Insert list
1. Improved farms sequence
2. Fort-Fortress sequence
3. Horse-Farmer sequence
4. Town Guard sequence
5. Bowyer sequence
6. Spearmaker sequence
7. Swordsmith sequence
8. Siege engineer sequence
9. Armourer seqence
10. Weaponsmith sequence (iron deposits provinces only)
11. Church
12. Monastery
13. Chapter House
14. Cathedral
15. Reliquary
16. University
17. Port
18. Shipbuilder sequence
19. Bell Foundry sequence (gunpowder c.1260 so High/Late only)
20. Gunsmith sequence (gunpowder c.1260 so High/Late only)
21. Inn
22. Tavern sequence
23. Brothel sequence
24. Royal Palace - Baronial estates sequence (do both show at once?)
25. Chancellery - Marshal's palace sequence (do both show at once?)
26. Admiralty
27. Border Watch towers/forts
28. Military Academy
29. Culverin Towers-Siege Cannon Towers sequence
30. Trading post sequence (doh! how could I forget that one?)
Question mark over whether motte, motte & bailey, curtain walls, ballista towers, ringwall, +Barbican get included in the build count as these get overwritten when you upgrade to the next castle level.
31. Mine-Mine complex sequence.

(where applicable)
FINAL EDIT: dotting the i's and crossing the t's

Impressive list, I stand corrected.
In fact, the maximum number of christian buildings you can build in 1 province is 34. Taking your list and modifying/rearranging it:
1. Farms
2. Fort
3. Horse
4. Town Guard
5. Bowyer
6. Spearmaker
7. Swordsmith
8. Siege engineer
9. Armourer seqence
10. Church
11. Monastery
12. Chapter House
13. Reliquary
14. Trading post sequence
15. Border Watch towers/forts
16. Inn
17. Tavern sequence
18. Brothel sequence
19. Royal Palace
20. Royal estates
21. Bell Foundry sequence (gunpowder c.1260 so High/Late only)
22. Gunsmith sequence (gunpowder c.1260 so High/Late only)
23. Port (sea provinces only)
24. Shipbuilder sequence (sea provinces only)
25. Weaponsmith sequence (iron deposits provinces only)
26. Mines (valuable minerals provinces only)
unique:
27. Chancellery
28. Constable's Palace
29. Marshall's palace
30. Admiralty
31. Cathedral
32. Military Academy
33. University
34. College of Surgeons
There is one and only one province that has the three required elements:
- port
- iron
- mines
Namely, Sweden. Kind of a special province for a spanish glory goal, dont you think? 34 buildings in sweden, indeed...
Now you could theoretically have the Almohads help you with say, a Mosque, a ribat, or even a grand mosque. However, these buildings are always destroyed (since they are religious buildings) and there are no other distinct muslim buildings.
So the glory goal could be reached if:
- gunpowder is discovered
- 1 province has all the government upgrades/university upgrades
- can be only 1 out of the 4 (Aragon, Castile, Cordoba, Granada) making it.
currently testing with build cheat, a 1430 save...
Hurray!! It CAN be done, i have the saves to prove it: Castile managed 33 buildings and the pips started showing at 30 *cheers*. They (2 whole glory points) were also added correctly to the total *double cheer*.
EatYerGreens 20:47 07-30-2005
Much better list. Glad to be of help.
Now I have to ask: is all the extra expense and construction time worth it for a lousy 2 extra points?
(or did you mean it's 2 points per building in excess of 29?)
One thing I haven't the patience to do is scour the game's .txt files for the info and then total up the build time to see if there's any slack time available between 1087 and 1453...

and my favorite GA goal:
Krak des Chevaliers - citadel in Tripoli (France)
That one GA is why I like playing France. And I'm partial to the color blue.
@ phred:
My favourite GA goal too! I dig sitting pretty in the Holy Land while all the other Catholics resemble hand-wringing losers.

Well, thats up to the player to decide, if you want to get the maximum glory score for a given faction, then yes. Make sure you dedicate either Granada or Castile, as they (the provinces themselves, not the number of buildings) are worth 2 points if they fulfill the condition (30 buildings or more). Cordoba and Aragon give 1 point in this case.
My study was merely to see IF?, and if yes, How many? glory pips a particular goal adds to the total (which can be verified by comparing the glory total before and after the glory year).

It has a beautiful picture as well, since it isnt drowned out by the homelands one.
Turkish - Ikonia (sp) more buildings in Rum than in any other province
Russian - Kremlin (fortress or citadel in Muscovy IIRC)
Poland gets one for defeat of the Horde, but I haven't ever seen it.
I don't recall the new factions (Hungary, Sicily, Aragonese) having any Glory Goals besides homelands.

No, the "new ones" don't have any fancy GA goals... Though I could come up with a few interesting ones for the Hungarians, for sure. Like "inherit the Polish throne - achieve personalunion with Poland by 1321" Or "Battle of Varna - defeat the Turks along with a crusade in Bulgaria" Or "Three seas wash the shores of Hungary: get entrance to the Black, Balti sea along with the Adria."
Another question: Can I see the GA pictures other than the one for the first in the list? It is annoying that I only see Homelands and maybe Iconicum for a change... but never the other pix...
Yet another: any listing for every GA goals in all eras?
Advo-san 09:33 08-02-2005
English=Motherlands (Retake your continental provinces from France)
Poland=Stand Fast (The opposite of Drang Nach Osten)
The Crack is The Greatest GA of them all I agree
