Sorry to double post but this bit imparticular got my attention:
"It may have been that they [officers in Birmingham] were clear there wasn't a bomb. I don't know what the situation was."
Isn't that an admission that he is making a statement about an issue he doesn't know all the facts about, therefore making his opinion on the matter: irrelevant.
