    Default Age of Empires III

Aaargh! They've given the early 17th-century Dutch a king William of Nassau!! http://www.ageofempires3.com/Civilizations/Dutch.aspx

Also, they send the Ottomans to the New World.

    So much for historical accuracy...

Screenies look nice though, that seems to be promising, as well as the concept of a "Home City".

Come on, Roboticus Eroticus, at least admit that the Home City graphics look achingly beautiful.

I'm considering bying the monster. For the kids, obviously..

The Ottomans were included just as a "what if" scenario, and I think it's a fine idea.

Oh well I'd be a fool to not claim that - I mean it's built on the havok engine for starters. Plus, ES is among the main developers I proudly support.

Probably not, but at leat there is a difference between accuracy and being bluntly wrong. Giving the Dutch Republic a king is a mistake that has been made in games far too often already (apart from the fact that between 1584 and 1647 there was no Nassau in any form of power who was called William).

However, I was a huge fan of Age of Empires II, so I might still get it... in the end, accuracy isn't everything of course, I might just as well read a book. And indeed, it looks promising enough to keep me busy for a couple of hours (seeing as I don't have any kids yet...)

    It is only the website.

-It has Queen Elizabeth talking about British forces.
-It a letter to General Howe and a reference to a Queen, probably Elizabeth, and it is dated 10-10-76 and it is from a Sergeant.
-It has Napoleon talking about conquering America.
    -It has Dopplesoldners in 1802.

But still is just a website, it is just an interesting way of presenting information.

well its not like conquering all of europe is historically accurate either.its just fun.if you want history read a book.thats what i do.lol.but in games i want to spread terror, war, disease,(get it, dis-ease?)and death.with their was a game that focues more on being a warlord than conquering an world reaching empire.to me that would still be fun.

    No.
But there is in some of it’s players…

Is this game actually available yet? I can't find a single review of it, or even a mention of a release date on the net, and yet when I walked into my local EB store last night it looked like they had a dozen copies on sale at AU$89.95. Of course, it might have just been advertising to wet the appetite of gamers, but even if these were only "Coming Soon" pretend boxes on its shelves, that usually means the game is only a couple of weeks away anyhow.

well here's a Preview from Heaven Games.

It's not scheduled for release till Winter. Demos from ES usually come out pre-release.

There is a unit preview on Gamespy:

    They don't look too inaccurate.

That unit looks cool Martinus. I might have to give AoE III a go when it comes out, maybe.

I think that it look pretty cool. I'll probably buy it.

Wonder if they'll make another AOE.
