    Default TC : Welcome

We would like to welcome you to the Hundred Years War mod forum. We hope you enjoy your stay.

    What is this mod about

It is our aim to create a modification for Medieval Total War that will transform the game into a simulation of the hundred years war.

The Hundred Years War covers the period 1337 to 1453 and basically was a series of campaigns between England and France. The final historical outcome of the conflict was defeat for England which plunged her into her own civil war, known as ‘The War of the Roses.’

However, it cannot be looked at with blinkered vision, as it often spilt over into neighbouring territories.

Brittany was an independent principality, that was touched by the conflict and was thrown into civil war when its Duke died. England took the side of the one claimant while France backed another.

The Duchy of Flanders, a vassal of the French crown. She made a military alliance with England, one of the conditions of the alliance was that the English King would declare himself king of France, which he did. The two forces then campaigned against France.

Scotland and England had never been peaceful neighbours, during the period of the Hundred Years War, Scotland allied hereself with France and took part in many conflicts against England, both at home and in mainland France.

Burgundy was a duchy and vassal of France, its first Valios duke was Philip the Bold, who was the son of the French King. After his death, the family bond grew progressively weaker. The second Duke was treacherously cut down in the presence of the French King, and died at his feet. From then on, far from being allies of France, they becaming one of its greatest threats. As civil war gripped France, The Burgundians allied themselves with the English in an attempt to seaze power for themselves.

These are but a few examples of the conflicts that took place during the period we known call the hundred years war.

You say defeat for the English (which I do not entirely accept) but who came out of the treaty better?
It's the taking part that counts.
