Question If the Marian reforms don't occur....

    ....then what happens?!

I am in 198 BC and I have 3 Imperial Palaces in Italy. I was the first to build them. Also, I have conquered Rome.

    It occurs maximum in 180B.C.

I wonder if the date can be modded, so the reforms can be at a specific date.

Surely you could just adjust the time frame where it happens, as opposed to the centuary long wait you may have now, anrrow the limits to 106-108 BC (I thnk they happened in 107BC in real life)

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the Senate still had to control Rome for the reforms to happen.

AFAIK that's not true, you can wipe out the senate is that is what you like to do.

You build the Imperial Palace, then you wait, as their is a percentage chance each turn that the Reforms will occur. As turns go on, the percentage chance increases. They'll occur eventually, you just need to be patient.

In my Julii game I wiped out the Senate in 221 BC and got the reforms in 218 BC (1.0) so at least in the original game the Senate wasn't required for Marius to do his thing. That may have changed in 1.2, which I've avoided.

While 1.2 has some problems, it is far better than in 1.0.

In 1.0, Marian Reforms occur after you build an Imperial Palace. If you build it before 220BC, it occurs in 220BC. If you build it after 220BC, it occurs the turn after it is built.

It was changed in 1.2 in order to allow people to use Triarii for a while.

Unhappy Re: If the Marian reforms don't occur....

I'm playing RTR , the year is 180 BC , still haven't had the reform yet though I didn't have any imperial palaces in italy yet though there are many in Sicily in Cartago.

Let the senate be alive for a few more years until I get the reform. Anyway mo provinces now are over 60 already since I started east, my Punic wars come later.

    Cheers...
