Thread: Medieval Tactics.

    Default Medieval Tactics.

    Howdy again all,

I'm not new here and from past experience I've noticed that EVERYONE here gives go advice/incites/opinions. My question is what are some good books on War in the Middle Ages? I'm not looking for one in particular but if you have 5 or 5 million good books on this subject what is the best one. I have many books on other topics in history but not many on the Middle Ages or the battle tactics. Thank you.

The best place you can ask is the monastery forum. There are all the historians of this site. Personally, I don't know much about Medieval tactics, but I hear the Osprey books on the subject are good, though sometimes lacking in detail.

Well I dont think there are books like "101 battle tactics of the Middle Ages"

But one book that I can recommend is "The art of warfare in Western Europe during the Middle Ages" by J.F Verbruggen

edit: oh and "War in the Middle Ages" by Philippe Contamine
