Been to:
Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.
A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
What thing Ed? Can't imagine why you'd get a warning.
A nasty emotion outburst in the Backroom. Seeing which topic it was about, understandable that it hurts emotions (and it's good that you're touched by such a thing too edyzmedieval), but nasty nevertheless.
I haven't issued other warnings in that topic today.

It was because the USA were using kids as testers for some sort of drugs....
It was normal for me to break out because I'm a kid also......

365 days is the automatic setting in case we forget to remove.

i'm warned 3 times, warned 5 times that didnt added to my warning count, ima beast
We do not sow.
Looks like I've been warned too.
It is your forum and I'm just grateful to be a part of it.
I would ask that the following be considered:
A discussion took place between a pro-military war supporter and an anti-military war protester.
Each (a Marine and an anti-war activist) are passionate about their respective beliefs. And each truly believes that they are following a path best for society.
Each have been disrespected by a comment directly related to their beliefs. The Marine has been branded a "mercenary". This would be an extreme of war support. The anti-war activist has been branded a "coward". This would be the extreme of being anti-war.
My point is this: Both comments were an emotional statement of observation from two polarized extremes of the same issue.
I look forward to any comments in reply to this issue.
This is not the first time American soldiers have been attacked on this board. You cant expect someone not to respond when they are directly called a mercenary, nazi, ect.
I love it when US marines are called "mercenarys". Do you have any idea how much they get paid? i am pretty sure almost all of them could make much more money in a much safer job.
i have a hard time believing anyone would serve in iraq for money.
Back to the subject:
I got a warning for saying that i had 40 IP addresses and that i would use them to spam the .org into oblivion
I only got "0" waring points for it though

Well I know it was the money that attracted me. 90 dollars every two weeks. I was making 180 a week as a civilian before i joined. I guess it was the fact that i looked forward to bootcamp so much or the fact that I looked forward to being called nasty names.I love it when US marines are called "mercenarys". All we ever wanted and Im sure the same can be said today is a simple thank you for serving instead of ridicule. Ours is to do or die ours not to question why. Soldiers obey orders. We were no different from the Marines who served in WW2 and todays Marines carry on the same traditions.

Fighting for Truth , Justice and the American way
There ARE mercenaries in Iraq. I think it's a good percentage of the soldiers there. Or so I've heard from the CBC. And they get paid TONS, to protect the different company officials that come there to do business to rebuild the place.
Yes Byzantine Prince there are some mercenaries in Iraq working as security forces for some different companies - however they are not United States Servicemen and women. And they are definetly not United States Marines.Originally Posted by Byzantine Prince
The comment by Raforos was uncalled for and deserves the same warning status as the individual who responded with coward. It was pure emotional appeal garbage and an attempt to demonize those with an opposite viewpoint.
O well, seems like 'some' people decide to ruin a perfectly valid threat. Nice going guys... doc bean
Wow marines being mercanares now that is sad. I've had at least one family member in the military since ww2 and if thats a mercanary salary stick me in a cubicle and leave me there to rot. I can understand if your agisant the war. Its a free country and you are entitled to your god given opinion but please dont forgot who gave you the right to have that opinion and don't knock this man who is a probaly a father, husband , son, uncle and he is doing what his country asks of him and he is fufilling it.
There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford
My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.
I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.
That's not fair! I've been wanting a warning for ages!! Can a mod please warn me for this post?
Then can one of you kind Mods please review my situation? I got a "Warning Level 2" back in February for making some smart-arse remark (something to do with another member's total life experience being limited to masturbation and reading Soldier of Fortune magazine, IIRC ), and it's six months later and I still can't edit my posts.Originally Posted by TosaInu

I'm not bragging, and I'm certainly not tempting fate, but surprisingly enough, despite all of my fiery posts, I've never been warned (formally anyway). I have been told to tone it down, and politely asked to edit my posts (even once or twice, not so politely). But all in all, I think I've been pretty darned lucky. Guess this all means I'm more reasonable than you, eh Goofball?

Well I tried warning myself a couple of months back for an outburst.
We (the mods) found out you can't actually give yourself a warning...
I have never been warned!
Nor do I intend to post something that would get me one. But I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it if I did. We're all entitled to a little outburst now and then. I see some fiery posters here with a lot of conviction, and who have recieved the odd warning.
I much prefer them over all those 'look at me! I'm king spam-a-lot!' peanut gallery types.
I cant remember a time when I was ever able to edit my posts..
Right now I have no hope of ever being able to edit my posts.
BP, how many warnings have you gotten total? 13 or something?
Edit:I can't imagine not be able to edit your posts. oh, wait, yes i can. I was a junior member until i had 70 posts

Is it too late for another cathartic confession? I have a warning, too.
May the Gods have mercy on my innocence -- I may have incurred my share of warnings, too, but I never looked into the matter. How do you learn or find out that you've been warned?Originally Posted by Proletariat

In my case, I was informed. I doubt it's different for anyone else, but they sent me a e-mail detailing the warning (sort of) and then you get a link that says 'View your warnings' next to the post number on the upper right corner of the posts you make.
So, you'd know. I doubt you need to worry about it, A.
