Thread: The End is Near, I Will Miss You All!
m52nickerson 22:53 08-06-2005
The year is 1422 and the end of this great Polish campaign is nere. Only a few small island stand in the way of total victory. I will miss all my polish men, you have all served me well. There are some of you that I wish could lead men into battle a few more times.
I will miss you Lord Zuraw, you started as a simple unit leader of men-at-arms. After the general of the army you served lost his will for battle you took command. You held denmark from the English for four years with no renforcments. You then fought your way along the coast of europe all the way to Scottland were your loyal army ended the English line. The whole time you lead not from behide but right in the thick of the fight. Drawing blood with your men. They never ran, or even wavered. They would follow you in to the mouth of hell if you lead the charge.
I will miss you Lord Krawczyk. Your unit of Polish Retainers fought the Byzantine all the way in to the desert, where you were put into command of a mismatched army expected to take the Holy land, and then the whole of north africa. You lead your men with honor and each bloody victory across the burning sands proved you armys worth.
I will miss you Jagiolon Zdeb. Even thou you never lead an army into battle your Bulgarian Brigands were the finest unit I have ever seen. You never failed in a mission to get behide an enemy and kill there leader. You spilled the blood of many Byzantine and English generals, and even ended the rain of a missguided Pope. May your arrows always fly stright and you blades never dull.
I will miss you Lord Jaqiellonczyk. You were born the youngest prince of a great King. You were by far the finest of his heirs, but the crown was not to be yours. You true place was on the field of battle. Your men would follow any order given, to the death. The enemy apon seeing your banner would flee more often then fight. You won victorys form the stepps all the way to the Spanish kingdom. Your army became the finest the world had evey seen, every battle seen you lose less men then there are weeks in a year. I will miss you the most. You were the pride of Poland, may you always find your self on the high ground.
It was an increadible journy bringing Poland from a small country to the only power in the world, it may happen again in some place and time, but I know it will never be a glorious as this run was. I will miss you all.

I have screen shot, I just can't open them. Damn TGA files. I can't convert them. I will post them as soon as I can.

Ok here we go!

Here is Zuraw, my fighting General. I always just used his unit as I nomaly would. I never expected him to live that long. His unit was almost totaly wiped out a few times.

Lord Krawczyk lead my army across the desert very well, even thou the heat sapped his units energy.

The leader of a great unit, it was down to 13 men before I got them some new men.

He was my star general, Legendary leader. You don't find many Polish generals like that.

Poland my capital.

I felt I should build up the Holy land.

Is the the HRE all the way in the NorthWest!! (lower left of the mini map) That was just awesome to look at, how long RL (hours/days) and GL (turns) did it take?

http://www.irfanview.com/

An excellent graphics viewer that has stuck with me since someone introduced it to me. It can read a large number of formats, takes up little resources, capable of coverting b/w various formats and even do some (basic) editing.

No the HRE has been gone for a few years in game. I think I started this campaign two months ago. As far as turns well it was 1421, so quite a few turns.

That Lord Jagiellonczyk is a nasty guy to meet on the battlefield, I had a byzantine and danish prince like some times and they do wonders!

We should make this the official tribute thread, everyone can post their tributes to their end-of-campaign soliders.

That province isn't part of the game, no faction can move troops into it.
