    Default Dismounting Elephant Crew

    Is it possible to dismount elephant crew? I tried to dismount the Carthaginian War Elephant crew and turn it into a new unit, but now the game crashes when I go to pick Carthage units in Custom Battle.

    It should be possible, probably best if you create a new unit using the cas and texture of the elephant crew but using an infantry skeleton.

    Yes. Assuming you're using the weapon that's already supplied with the model.

    Go to desc_model_battle.txt and find the elephant crew's model entry.
    Copy and paste (don't delete the original entry!!!)
    Change the type into something else, say archer2 (the name doesn't matter since it's not the name that will show up in-game)
    change the skeleton entry into fs_fast_archer, fs_fast_dagger

    Now go to export_desc_unit.txt
    Find an archer entry, any would be fine, copy and paste
    Change the type and dictionary (they must be unique, as in doesn't exist elsewhere in the file), let's say you use archer2 (for both)
    Change soldier entry into archer2 (referencing the type entry in desc_model_battle.txt)
    Change the ownership to whoever

    You're done.

    If you want to be complete, follow these next steps:

    go to export_desc_unit_enums.txt
    add a new entry just like the others except use the name archer2 (3 lines of code)
    now go to Data/text folder
    open export_units.txt
    add an entry for your archer2
    now your new unit has proper names in-game.


    You're now only missing unit cards. There's a tutorial for that somewhere.
