    Arrow Am new to the group

    Hello am new to this site and i need help in mod the rtw. And i need to know do i save and make a back up of the rtw date file before i mod anything in it.

    Yes - it's probably a good idea to backup the entire Data folder unless you're only modding a couple files - then you can just backup the individual files.

    Or - you could make a folder to save backup files of the originals for each file you mod, but that can get complicated.

    Basically it comes down to whatever works for you.

    Copy and paste the entire Data folder.

    My method of playing with Total War mods are space consuming, but extremly safe: After installing the game (and patches + possible official expansions) I make a copy of the whole game folder and rename it to " _original MTW/RTW/STW", after that I never edit a single file within this folder. Then I just copy this game folder for each mod.

    For example, I have installed 7 Medieval Total Wars (vanilla + MedMod IV, MedMod Viking, BKB, XL, Reconquista, Italy), 2 Rome Total Wars (vanilla + RTR 6) and 1 Shogun Total War.

    My Total War folder size is 24,6 gt
