    When i model i dont no how get the dds file for the model. Can someone show me hwo to do this.

    Look in the tutorials section for a tutorial on using the 'XPAK' tool. This is what you need to do.

    All the texture files are hidden away in file archives and you need to get them out of there in order to view or change them.

    yes i no that bwian. But say i make a whole new model of a bear for example.
    How do i texture it and find where to the head and legs in a dds file. I no how to skin and model just not how to get a new model a dds fiel.

    I am not at all sure what you mean!

    You know how to model and UV map? Or just how to model and apply the skin modifier to animate. If you mean UV map....you need to look up UV mapping in your manual. Or on google.

    It's a job I NEVER do on Max, so I couldn't tell you how best to go about it.

    thanks for the help. I dont really no what i mean is uv mapping like taking the head and putting it on the dds file like where it is on there.

    Yes..thats UV mapping.

    Thats the process where you tell the game engine which bits of the texture are stuck onto which bits of the model. Guess it will be easier to google search to find a tutorial now you know what the process is called!!!!
