Hello...As my old copy of the game was pretty worn out,I too invested in the 'sold out' copy. I have windows XP and have had no trouble with it.
When I insert the sold out cd,it autostarts with the sold out main screen,I exit this menu and click instead on the red mask icon on my desktop to start the game.
You could check that you have direct X 8 or later
Get the latest sound card/graphics drivers
Dont forget to install the 1.02 patch which is included on the cd.
And finally....once you are up and running install either Tosas or Shambles
fakeservers to play the game online.
