    No.
But there is in some of it’s players…

    Go to export_desc_building.txt
Find every entry for recruiting triarii and remove "and not marian_reforms" line. Triarii will be recruitable post-marian reform.

Coming to think of it, why is the Auxilia spearmen crappier than the Triarii anyway? One should think that since it appears post-Marian reforms it should be at least as good, but no.

Vae victus, you must empty your inbox for me to PM you, it's full.

Short answer to your PM, search for show_err here in forum, follow the instructions for using it and find the error.

And remember ALWAYS backup your files before editing, in case something happens.

just make a copy of the file and rename it. I would suggest something like "filename_BACKUP.txt". That way if you ever need it again you can just delete the broken file and remove the "_BACKUP" from the name of your backup and youll be fine.

    ..or reinstall.

Take a copy of all the files you're going to make changes to. In risk of stating something obvious - Don't despair mate, scripting and modding is a learning process.

Just copy and paste, the same way you copy anything else. If you paste to the same folder, the file should by default be named "copy of xxx.yyy"

And if you´ve got the harddrive space free, copy the whole RTW folder, that way you´ll have a spare woking version, no matter what you do with the copy.

Hear, hear! These guys were long-service professionals, just like the legionaries. Their equipment may have been cheaper (especially in the mixed infantry/cavalry cohorts), but their training was excellent. Many battles were fought and won by the auxilia, with the legions in reserve.

Simply edit export_descr_unit to make the auxilia tougher. 7 or 8 for attack, 5 for defence skill and 8 for morale seems reasonable.

I think its because the triarri are the 'best' roman unit premarian (ie you need the highest level barracks) and auxillia are the 'worst' post marian troops (excpet pezzies but they don't count)
