    AS Levels: ABBB.

1 mark off an A in maths, 5 marks off an A in physics. God actually hates me.

Plus I'm really regretting taking sciences at an arts college. Although I managed to get an A in biology, quite impressive seeing as I think I know more than my teachers.

I wonder if I can move schools...

I got four As at AS level in Economics, Communication Studies, Maths and Further Maths.

I was pretty chuffed with the Maths results getting 100% in C1, 97% in C2, 96% in C3, and 97% in C4, and having percentages in the high 80s for the 3 applied maths modules. I also managed to get 100% in the first two economics modules too, so I was jolly pleased with that.

Shades - I know what you are going through all too well.

13 marks off an A in politics and 12 marks off an A in philosophy.

I screwed up a couple papers.

    Ah well, eh.

So I have ended up with BBC, which is enough for my place, and for that I am happy. After all Alvls mean nothing after you have your degree, just like GCSE's, just a stepping stone... I did get into a v good uni for my course I guess, GAH.

It sucks, but it shall have to do.

Well done to all others, I tip my hat to you all - but there is no God, so don't waste your time on him, the past few weeks have proven to me there is none.

    A bit late but -

Calculus and Algebra - 70 (Distinction) - Well this was all I was really aiming for - I wasn't doing it voluntarily, just as a prequisite for my degrees and I'm not going on with it.

Intro. to Finance - 75 (Distinction) - Should have done better for this, I neglected it, Calculus tended to suck all of my efforts into it.

Advanced GIS - 80 (High Distinction) - Decent enough, solid mark

Statistical Analysis of Experiments - 86 (High Distinction) - Woo, top of the unit, would have had a 95+ mark were it not for scaling.

They got rid of scaling over here in NSW now... lucky bastards.
That and your subject names are wierd! Then again, I think the HSC aims to provide subject names that the majority of students can spell...

My not so hot results for my first year of my first degree dragged my overall GPA down... while at the same time I had a similar attitude to yourself, I found employers were not into analyzing your marks on a unit by unit basis, they look straight at your GPA (hell, if I had 500 applicants for a small number of positions I would do the same), first year subjects are easy, something I put to use in my LLB.

That's because they are university units, not high school units - as such they tend to describe what they do

Scaling doesn't bother me, it happens - I've got some good results off of it, some bad. I'm still top of the unit.

No need to worry. I got a II.I, thats the second highest grade possible. I was 3 marks (percent) off a first overall. Its not that I did badly at all, just that I personally feel that I could easily have gotten a first, with just a minimal amount of additional effort. Had a good first year as well, so all in all I'm still very happy with both my grade and how much social time I had during the year. Plus, my first year grades dont count at all for my degree. Different Uni system over here I suppose...

Of course! My bad... that would also explain why the marks come in F/P/C/D/HD form!

Guess so. I have had some hard times trying to explain the differences between our systems to American students, but I don't feel like doing it for another country!
