    Default God Of War

Man I am very impressed with this game. Great story, incredible gameplay, crazy combos, UNBELIEVABLE graphics (specially on the buildings, i didnt no the ps2 was powerful enough to do this), musics great, very very good cinematics. Man I think this is the best game for the PS2 and probably the best 3rd person game ever....

what is you alls opinions on this game?

I am ambivalent. To me, it is in the same class as DMC and Ninja Gaiden, but I vastly prefer DMC 1 & 3 and NG to God of War. The graphics didn't do anything for me, and the huge combos are nice... but why does it take 30 hits to kill something? How about Izuna dropping anything in the game to kill it (from NG)?

To put it bluntly, I think every professional review is overrated. I do not think this game is a 9.8. I don't think it does anything new or better than DMC or NG. I'd give it an 8.0. Pretty, but I just found the combat painful.

I will admit, I liked the story. Heck the fact that it has one is better than what DMC 1 and NG have. But.... I don't play this type of game for story. I play it for a challenge.

    Those are my three cents.

Fun game. But way too easy. The only enemy that presented even a mild challenge was the final boss. And once you've beaten the game once, god mode is a piece of cake.

NG was better, imo. Haven't played DMC3, though I've heard that's a lot of fun too.

Heh. well there are a couple cheese combos that make the game real easy. the light, light, heavy combo (available from the start of the game) is particularly nasty, because it causes aoe juggling, and is REAL fast. Absolutely necessary on the second stage of the final battle in god mode. And it makes fighting the cyclops (otherwise very tough opponents) ridiculously easy (they never get in range to charge or attack if you just continually LLH... even if there are 3-4 of them).

light heavy heavy is also very powerful, and extremely useful against both the uber skeletons and satyrs.

The only other thing is to use block a lot.

Ninja Gaiden above normal difficulty is as painful as a tribal adult male circumcision ritual.

You are not alone... And that hydra needs 1 gazillion hits before it sies, even with the special attacks.

light attacks don't do much damage. If you can get a hydra in the air once (LH works well), you can do an infinite slam/juggle using the z button.
