Default E.V.O. The Search for Eden

Anybody ever played this? I just tried it out again after a pretty long time, and I remember why I hated playing it: it's VERY DIFFICULT; those boss characters tear you apart in no time.

The gameplay is nothing special: it's just about starting out as a fish, and evolving throughout the game into "higher forms of life" as you take out any creature you think you can handle and eat his remains to grow, but that does make the idea of this game a little more refreshing than the typical RPG -- to evolve throughout the ages.

The "RPG element" is hardly there, except for character traits (evolution, etc.), points, defense, attack, etc. There isn't much story really, and the rare dialogues are uninteresting, but what would one expect from a game like this to deliver in the story department?

The evolution thing is nicely done. It's nice to see how your creature will change if you spend those points on a certain body part -- tail, body, jaws, fins, etc.

They should really make a new game of this baby

Emotion: you have it or it has you.

    I absolutely loved EVO!
The thing that irked me was that at the very final stage, you could remain what you are, or evolve into a homosapien. And in doing so, you get a very nice jump, but reduce your attack damage and defense to almost nil. Personally, I'd rather stay as a T-rex hybrid in that case.

Default AW: E.V.O. The Search for Eden

I never even got that far

T-Rex owns. I think I'll be getting to that soon enough. Last time I played, being a reptile, trying to get past this big reptilian beast who "lost his son" or something. What a cheap story

Stupid story, but fun gameplay. Even once you get the T-rex jaws, there are still enemies that will smack you up.
