I wish some of you folks would be willing to express a stong opinion now and then....

I haven't played RTW 24-7-312 (or whatever), but the only thring that struck me as being bad for gaming was the the cavalry was a bit too uber. That aside, it was a blast, but only quasi-historical. I mean, 3 factions which each produced "the first man in rome"... but in different centuries sharing the same start time? Egyptian chariot armies led by a Ptolemy? I still enjoy it though.

Lars did have a point. I wouldn't go quite as far as a unit of "atomic bobs" -- and please, NOBODY show us a skin of what that would look like -- but it is a game.

However, being a history addict, I suspect I will revel in the end results of the EB team's efforts. All said and done, I really am in that hardcore pigeonhole who would like to try to face down Rome with only the tools the Gauls really had -- but that's a very different game.
