I think that you missed the statistics man 1. Football 2. Automovilism . Anyway... What does it haves to do if it's played professionally or not? You're looking for the most popular game in the world, the world popular means "of the people" not of the rich, or of the autos fans, of all the people, and football it's without doubt the most popular. And...Are you kidding me? Now i realize that it's not the most professionalized game . Seriously man, there're 22 players for team, with more than 20 teams average per country, with more than 50 countries that have professional football and more than 3 divisions that are also professional with another 20+ teams for every division. Come on!
Explain me the difference between motor sports and auto racing.

    Maybe because I asked

Do any of you know what is the most popular proffessional sport? That is the most watched?
I think that was pretty clear.

Explain me the difference between motor sports and auto racing.
Your joking correct? OK Ill take you at your word. Auto Racing is for Automoblies while motor racing covers anything that is motorized including motorcycles, snow mobiles, boats, aircraft and wave runners just for starts. If you make it motor sports its the number 1 sport in every category even though some of you claim these guys are noteven atheletes.

Ok, you got me there. But then your assumption of profesionally=watched is wrong.

I'm still learning english so i didn't joke. And you're trying to group all of the different Motor Racing into just one category, when the stadist made the contrary.
Still the single event most watched is the World Cup of the FIFA, that makes football the most popular. If one is better than the other is just a matter of tastes.

I suggest your comprehension of the english language is whats at fault here.I never stated proffessional equals watched. I asked what was the most Watched Proffessional sport.

    It is the #1?

I actually highly doubt that, even if you include all motor sports. Do you have any numbers to back up your claim that on a given weekend more people are watchong motorsports than football/soccer?

Well ive tried but i cant find any numbers. Again though a race can handle crowds far larger than any soccer stadium and the number of proffessional races held in The US alone on a weekend is staggering eclipsing all the other proffessional sports here put together. Of course during the winter NFL football takes the crown as theres not much racing going on. No other sport can get a quarter of a million people to show up for an event.

But how many recing events of such a scale are there on a given weekend? In addition I do not think at all that the importance of motorsport in the US is any indication for its global importance.

In Germany the number of motorsport events certainly isn't staggering while the number of soccer matches definitely is.

And again, you are comparing apples and oranges. If you take auto-racing as a category (not individual sports like F1, or NASCAR on their own...), why cant we take all types of football? That would include Football, Rugby Football, American football, Gaelic Football, Aussie Rules and every other variation of the "bouncy ball on field with two teams" formula around the world.

Its not that but that there are more proffesional races held every weekend than any other sport. I bet its the same in England and Austraillia. You have to remeber there are very few amatuer races held here as oppsed to proffesional ones. Racing costs big bucks. There are hundreds if not thousands of proffesional races held n the US alnoe not only on weekends but during the week.

In Germany the number of motorsport events certainly isn't staggering while the number of soccer matches definitely is.
I dount your a racing fan and I think you would be amazed at how many races are run in Germany every weekend. I doubt you have anywhere near the number we do however as we have race tracks everywhere.

Let's ask Lance '$150,000,000' Armstrong about professional cycling...

Its still not a proffesional sport. Michael Schumaker makes more anyway. Those are endorsements he gets. Or is there prize money on the tour?

Yes, there is some 3 million euro in prize money.

    http://www.letour.fr/2005/presentationus/enjeux.html

But that's of course peanuts compared to the sponsorships and endorsements. Cycling is a major professional sport.

Not as big as motorsports or autoracing though. Which in turn are not as big as (association) football.

You're still puting all in the same hole, but, anyway, the professional sport most watched is football by itself, though i cannot give numbers it's stated that this is the truth. So as i don't have any numbers i cannot say that it's superior to all motor sports together, but it's to automovilism.

And Michael Jordan is still considered an athelt? Even when he doesn't play any sports? This is news for me.
