Eh, I learned more about him and was able to remember his earlier names after I joined the org. Anyway how is it more humble to call yourself by his original name?

I got the nickname Spino from a close friend back in college. He said he got it from a book he had to read in literature class ("Bread & Wine") which features a protagonist named Pietro Spina. I believe the character was initially quite the atheist and anti-religion type. I was a unapologetic atheist back then but I certainly wasn't anti-religion. Anyway my friend must have deliberately or accidentally dropped the 'a' in Spina and replaced it with an 'o'. Good thing too because on its own Spino sounds much more masculine than Spina. Spino is a very real name though and is found commonly in Italy and other latin based cultures (i.e. Espinosa). Here's the origin of the name: spino-, spin-, spini- (Latin: thorn, prickle; by extension, "backbone", the spinal cord)

I try to use the name Spino in virtually every single forum and game I play. Chances are if you play games online and see the nickname Spino it's probably me. If you see a Spino playing BF2 that's definitely me because Gamespy only allows one person to have the same nickname.

I don't know about any Harry Potter spells but I do know that Quietus was an uber-powerful sword for the warrior class in "Hexen: Beyond Heretic", the sequel to "Heretic." Heretic and Hexen were two outstanding first person shooters by Raven that appeared during the Doom revolution of the 90s.

I wanted to the name of Sanada Yukimura for Shogun online play back in Oct 2000, but it was already taken. I settled on Yuuki as a nickname for Yukimura after learning from Idaho that Yuki was a female name. About a month later I added Mizu (water) as a prefix when Clan Takiyama (waterfall mountain) was formed. Interestingly, Yuuki means courage in Japanese, but I didn't know that at the time. Sanada Yukimura was killed in 1615 leading 55,000 men against Tokugawa Ieyasu's 155,000 man army, which was sieging Osaka castle, in a desperate attempt to break the siege. A smaller flanking force which was supposed to take part advanced too late. This ended the last rebellion against Tokugawa rule which lasted for the next 250 years.

Makkyo came from the STW days. It's a minor Japaneese demon that plagues people in their dreams. But don't quote me on it
"And one should bear in mind that there is nothing more difficult to execute, nor more dubious of success, nor more dangerous to administer than to introduce a new order to things; for he who introduces it has all those who profit from the old order as his enemies; and he has only lukewarm allies in all those who might profit from the new. This lukewarmness partly stems from fear of their adversaries, who have the law on their side, and partly from the skepticism of men, who do not truly believe in new things unless they have personal experience in them."

My posting name was always Puzz3D. I joined the org in June 2000 when STW was released not Oct 2000 as it says under my name. I chose Yuuki as a player nickname when I started playing STW online in Oct 2000 so that I would have a name that went better with the Japanese setting of the game. Once these two names became established I decided not to change them.

Thumbs up Re: Give the origin of your nick (even if it's obvious)

According to the bible/torah, Methuselah is the oldest man ever recorded to live. Although that normally wouldn't serve as an allure for a username, a distinct childhood memory of mine was having an old east-Indian (that is, an Indian from India) man give me a hand-reading and stating in his quiet and wise voice that I would live to be an old man.

So I chose Methuselah as my username. Later on, having made a bit of repuation as a spammer (and necromancer) in the EB Forums, a fellow called ||Lz3|| suggested I pick up the epithet Magnus, the great, much to the acclamation of the EB Tavern members. Aemilius Paulus later suggested Megas, the greek form of the latin Magnus, which sounded better to the ears. I chose that one and switched my username before the whole pevergreen incident which limited username-changing.

Bah, that is not true, and you know it. I called you Magnus, granting you that epithet, and Lz3 had nothing to do with this. That happened in your personal SG, "Methuselah's Palace". The Taverners were not involved. But then you did not like it much due to the way it sounded, so you chose Megas. I forgot who suggested that though...

    No ham, pepsi.
They make deli slices of frozen pepsi now? Awesome!
You also need to purchase a small freezer for storage of your pepsi.
It runs on batteries. You'll need a few.
Uhh, I guess I won't have pepsi then. Do you have change for a twenty?

It all started a long time ago..some three years at most. Anyways, I was playing FIFA Football 2002 on the PS2 with my friend and I kept winning, so he said I used "hax". I then took over that name.

    Actually I suggested Attometh. ;)

Now, as far as mine goes, it's an acronym for "Latinoz 3lite" (Elite latins). That was my COD4 clan when I used to play videogames (before uni ), and it's not bragging or anything, but we had some of the best players out there (1 top 10 and several top 100).

Now, when I joined the org, every other name I tried was already taken (I think), and since I knew no one from my "clan" was interested in playing RTS games, I chose it.

Wow epic thread necromancy. Is 4 years a record?

Anyways.... Back in 08 my friends thought it would be awesome to be the best/biggest/what ever clan in Age of Conan. We had 350 members from day one. Well 3 weeks before the game came out I was desperately looking for a latin name that would go with our sassy name of Dies Irae. My original gaming nick was CowTipp which derived from CowTipper which came from CowTippingHick Which was given to me in BF2 for the PS2. For some reason the clan I was in when I played that game back in the day called all armor Cow's or for multiples, cattle. I used to talk like a hick and soooo they started calling me the CowTippingHick after I got extremely good at killing tanks. We called heli's chickens, still dont know why.

And back to Veho Nex. Roughly translates into Rider of Death or Sailor of Death... I meant it to be the fourth rider of the Apoc, the one who controlled the first 3 and even had Hades following him around
