Sprite generator problem

I know there's a sprite generator thread already, but no-one seems to read it anymore so here goes...

I've done a complete re-install of v1.2 vanilla, no modifications at all. I've added -sprite_script and -show_err to the command line. When I start the game, I get the Activision credits followed by a CTD with no reason given.

What am I doing wrong?

Make sure you create a sprites folder in your main data folder. Then run the game using the sprite_script generator and the game will generate the sprites you've listed in your sprite_script.txt file. It doesn't tell you it's generating them, however, it just returns you to the desktop basically at the same place you've said once its finished. Then go to your new sprites folder and the sprite files should be in there.

If you want to actually play the game again, remove the sprite_script command.

OK, I've created a "sprites" folder, with a sprite_script text file in it. I want to create a sprite for British barbarian cavalry (descr_model_battle has a texture for the unit, but no sprite). Exactly what should I type in the sprite_script file?

OK, I'm still having no luck with the

sprite generator! What exactly should I be typing to get the sprite I want? Pleeeeeeeease help!
