    Default This is interesting...

I found the following statement on the totalwar website.

"Religion - is now an important factor. Christianity has become the dominant religion of the Empire, but it’s your choice whether or not to revert to paganism in the hope that this will bring victory. Barbarian factions can convert, opening up new parts of the technology tree in the process."

It's the last part I'm interested in. Could this feature be modded to allow factions to assimilate the technology of other factions when they conquer them and/or their provinces? I'm not thinking of playing as the Borg, but it would be nice to access the technology of other factions. This would allow "barbarians" to take on more advanced technology, and also give factions such as the Romans a greater variety of auxiliaries depending on the provinces that they conquer. The website already says that barbarians can build expanded settlements. Any thoughts anyone?

It never says what the new parts of the tech trees are. You probably just get to build those Clubmen Priests and churches to raise morale and generate cash.

In BI the barbarians can finally upgrade to huge citys, but whether that is only after conversion, I don`t know. It`ll be interesting to see what these 'new parts of the technology tree' are.

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.

A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?

The Romans can burn the churches and revive their old religion

RTW, 167 BC: Rome expels Greek philosophers after the Lex Fannia law is passed. This bans the effete and nasty Greek practice of 'philosophy' in favour of more manly, properly Roman pursuits that don't involve quite so much thinking.

Awesome! That alone is enough incentive for me to buy BI.
