And I'd like to stay outside, thank you. I don't like New Jersey, though, so once I'm done with college, I'd move to some other non walled up place.

Are you a bit mono-focused on one issue my friend? I have nothing against guns, gun ownership and the like, but chill......

Why don't you want to be an american?

You are not one of those Idiots who spit on the flag, refuse to say the pledge, will not stand up during the anthem, and disrespect veterans are you?

IF you dont like your country WHY THE HELL ARE YOU HERE. If you want america to be like canada(or some where else)...I got news for you most people don't instead of trying to make us like them why don't you move there

edit seamus the reason the guns are the "big" issue for me is.

1 they protect our rights with out them the government could walk all over us.

2 They are my favorite hobby and people want to take them away from me even though I have done nothing wrong. I think soccer is stupid but you do not see me wanting to get rid of it.

Gun owners are demonized in the US and it is not fair, I have heard one person say "gun owners should have no rights"

I respect veterans. I don't spit on the flag. I don't go to places that sing the anthem (not a sports person). I stand at the pledge, but don't say anything.
And I don't dislike America. And my family is here, that's why I don't live in Canada, plus the fact I'd like to get an education before I go off around the world.
And next year when I am old enough to vote, I will vote to better America.
Any thing else you'd care to know?

Funny - this might be true during the foundation of your country - but what can a handgun do against an Apache 64-D Longbow?

The handgun would give the Apache pilot the right to shoot because he would feel threatened.

And that would be bad... why?

Seriously, I hate commies. They perverted the socialist system into a bizarre, unachievable goal of an egalitarian utopia, which so far has only produced dictatorships. Also, Marx was a condascending ass towards Socialism. Damn you, Marx!

In all seriousness, there are few in-betweens here in the US. They're either ugly as hell, or the most attractive women in the world. I think we can live without European women who would probably try to seduce our politicans and turn them into damned commies.

so Euro women are commies now? Wonderful...when did this happen again?

I think it was Lincoln, anyway.
In 1862, in order to support the Civil War effort, Congress enacted the nation's first income tax law. It was a forerunner of our modern income tax in that it was based on the principles of graduated, or progressive, taxation and of withholding income at the source. During the Civil War, a person earning from $600 to $10,000 per year paid tax at the rate of 3%. Those with incomes of more than $10,000 paid taxes at a higher rate. Additional sales and excise taxes were added, and an “inheritance” tax also made its debut. In 1866, internal revenue collections reached their highest point in the nation's 90-year history—more than $310 million, an amount not reached again until 1911.
Well he started it - but the guy and the Congress that got it in place permently

In 1913, the 16th Amendment to the Constitution made the income tax a permanent fixture in the U.S. tax system. The amendment gave Congress legal authority to tax income and resulted in a revenue law that taxed incomes of both individuals and corporations. In fiscal year 1918, annual internal revenue collections for the first time passed the billion-dollar mark, rising to $5.4 billion by 1920. With the advent of World War II, employment increased, as did tax collections—to $7.3 billion. The withholding tax on wages was introduced in 1943 and was instrumental in increasing the number of taxpayers to 60 million and tax collections to $43 billion by 1945.
O well, seems like 'some' people decide to ruin a perfectly valid threat. Nice going guys... doc bean
