    Default Battle Editor?

I was just wondering if this will be enabled when EB is released. If so, do you currently have anyone working on any historical battles for the release version? If so cool, if not i`d like to offer my services, ive spent a while using the battle editor so im quite familiar with it.

Sorry, we have seen your request and are discussing it. As you may have noticed, EB moves slowly on most things.

Yes, we will work on Historical Battles. Revamping old ones and adding new ones that were also important in history. They won't be available for the Open Beta though, because we lack the manpower.

Nice of you to want to give us a hand...

Please don't delay the release of EB because of historical battles, if you don't want to call it the final version because it doesn't have historical battles then call it Beta 2.0 but please just give me the Campaign and I'll be happy.

In terms of your first query, I don't think the Battle Editor will be activated - not because we want it that way, but that it doesn't seem to like the larger map. I don't know if anyone else has had any joy using the Battle Editor with expanded maps. That would be a handy thing to find out, if you're able.

i tried using the battle editor with RTR 5.4.1 but it wouldnt work, i could create the new map, the armies etc. but when i saved it the game would allways crash leaving only the name id given to the battle with all the rest of my work gone down the pan :( however i know it must work somehow because the rtr crew were making their own historical battles. Anyways if you do have it working then ive allready got a couple of ideas for battles to do.

Well, a historical battle is just a map.wfc file and a descr_battle (and something else that I forget). You can make from vanilla if needs be and then presumably you should be able to write the descr_battle manually, rather than going through the battle editor.

The easiest thing would be to take one of the vanilla battles and then replace the troop types and see if that works.
