india:total war? central asia:total war? anyone?

hi. i'm not a modder myself, but in my quest for a wider variety of available mods for this most great game, i would like to suggest to anyone looking to start a one a mod based around india, and possibly surrounding areas such as pakistan, nepal etc maybe even going into modern afghanistan etc. i don't know alot about the history of the area (mostly gleaned from the first book in the belisarius series which i read yesterday, and which also was suggested as the subject of a mod), but from wat i hav read there seems to be lots of ethnic groups in the area that could be factions (kushans, ye tai, malwa, marathi, rajput, guptans, keralans, the list goes on and on), and i think the campaign map would be on of the most interesting yet (if done well).if anyone were willing to undertake this i would be more than willing to devote my time to research and anything else that a non-modder can do. perhaps i could even learn to do some sort of modding. think of the wonderful models we could hav ppl! india is, as far as i know, a colourful place, so imagine how beautiful thousands of brightly armoured troops would look ranked up, ready for war. anyone?

hi. i dunno how to edit my posts so i had to make a new one. i just wanted to add that ceylon (sri lanka), if included, would also add more thnic groups into the mix as factions, not to mention the dravidians who i forgot b4. there r others, though i can't be bothered to go find out their names. cheers.

I would prefer a slightly fantasy mod like this, but see Daemonic's post further down.

you'd have big competition of hoggy's mod and the zuangho (or something similar) mod. tough the latter one isn't mid asia.

anyway, good luck with your mod, you'll need it!

Yes, I've always been wondering why no one started a INDIA-TOTALWAR mod, I thought about it, but I have enough mods on my hands to start another one. Surely there are enough indian modders around here...I was able to get like 15 native american ones...good luck with the mod, the idea hasnt been done by anyother mod I've seen.

It's a awesome fanatasy mod, at the hosted mods section.

edit- it wont compete with india total war at all, blue lotus is a fanatasy mod in china/surrounding places with a india faction. India totalwar will be historical about all of india and surrounding.

Sigh... yet another dream project of mine but it would be set during the struggle for India pitting colonial powers like France and Britain against the Mahrattas, Sikhs, Gurkhas, Moghuls, Afghans, etc. Or one set in the rising (known to the British as the Indian Mutiny). Unfortunately I'm committed right now to Zulu Total War but best of luck if anyone wants to take on this sadly ignored region.
