    Default Save/reload workaround

Quite oddly this late in the stage I believe there is a workaround to save the state of the A.I.

I had too many A.I. initiated battles when I hit end turn. So I saved in the middle of the A.I.'s turn and apparently the Gauls or spanish/Iberians won't give in to my diplomatic demands. Macedon or Greeks don't want a cease fire

I could be wrong but the state of the A.I. seems to be saved as I was immediately besieged on all consecutive turns and the Germans did'nt lift there siege and assaulted.

So the trick is to get a pause in the end turn sequence save it and the state of the A.I will be saved. This is only 1 occurence but appears to work.

So if your needing to save, send a militia/peasant deep into enemy territory let the A.I. attack it, hit escape save the game and enjoy your next reload.

6 months of this known issue and noone has discovered this yet, well at least you can enjoy this workaround for the next 30 days until the patch is released

I didn't even know you could save during the AI's turn. Cool, well done if you're right

I actually thought of this, and I did some testing. It seems that factions whose turn is yet to come behave just as they would normally when loading a save.

The big problem with this method is that you need to have an AI attack you during its turn sequence, so that you can save before the battle and then quit. Otherwise I don't think you have an opportunity to save in the middle of their turns.

can't you just hit escape and do a manual save?

Well I just tried and there is an even easier way to save just after clicking end turn but before any other faction has their turn. And you can do that at will.

    The trick is:

    1. Select a Diplomat.
    2. Make sure the Diplomat is atleast 2 turns distance away from any other factions city.
    3. Send diplomat to that city for a diplomacy mission. Diplomat won't reach the city and will stop short, and will auto complete its next turn on the subsequent turn. end turn.
    4. end turn again (after ofcourse doing whatever you want, except touching the diplomat), this time he will go to the city and diplomacy window will open.
    5. click Ctrl-S (do not click Escape, as that will close the diplomacy window and then you cannot save during the turn), you won't see anything after pressing Ctrl-S, however, as soon as you close the diplomacy window, it will show the (quick)save window.

VOILA, you have a controlled way of saving the game during a turn and just after your turn but before all the other factions'. Now all this is only useful, if OATY is right about this workaround. I haven't had time to test his theory/test yet. But my technique is sound as far as saving the game in the middle of the turn is concerned.

    Happy gaming.

    Nah, it doesn't work.

I did a save with Brutii, at the end of second turn during AI phase, before Parthian turn, and after reload Parthians didn't took that rebel provice as they would without load.
