Mark Twain 1881"If you don't want to work, become a reporter. That awful power, the public opinion of the nation, was created by a horde of self-complacent simpletons who failed at ditch digging and shoemaking and fetched up journalism on their way to the poorhouse."
What do you define as pure peace? A peace that would last forever, 1000 years, 100 years among humanity?
For a shorter time inteval (like 100 years) it will certainly be possible, but things never last forever.
BTW conflict is natural, war is not as long as the resources is plentyful.
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

this is an over-generalization. either of those two words that you thanked could easily be replaced by "secularism" and the result of the statement would be the same. secularism is incompatible with peace too.Originally Posted by Divinus Arma
there will never be pure peace because humans will never collectively agree on most things.
the only way to achieve pure peace is either through brainwashing, or forcing a universal iron dictatorship upon all human beings for which the grip is so tight that there is no opportunity for rebellion
No.

This part remind me of the movie "Equilibrium", somewhat "Matrix" and a piece of the computer game "Moment Of Silence".Originally Posted by Navaros
I asked you all about "Pure Peace" because there are so many people or organizations or creeds aiming that.
Peace is relative. There will never be a time of pure peace anywhere ever (not even in an all elf society). There will always be forces pulling against each other causing conflict. But we could experience a time of more relative peace with less killing, wars, religious strife, etc.
I think as a people we strive for conflict. It keeps us feeling alive that’s why games, sports, debates, politics, online forums, etc. are popular. People need conflict and when there is none we create it. But if we are respectful and tolerant of others we might be able to have a little more relative peace.
