Don't shoot me down for asking.

I have searched these forums and elsewhere for an answer, but I have only found information that applies to hidden resources by province.

I would like to add completely new resources and make models for them visible on the strategy map. Has anyone managed this? Is it impossible due to hardcoding?

I am already 90% certain that I know the answers to these questions, but I would like confirmation since I may be missing something.
