Default can you control more than one 20 stack armies??

as i am unable to post it in the mods forum i will try here.

is there a way you can you control or is there a mod or script change that allows you to control a number of armies[over 20 units] instead of the AI taking over once you have reached your 20 unit limit.as an example you have three armies.

    1/20 units

    2/10 units

    3 12 units

total 32 units why am i only allowed control of 20 when 22 automatically default to the AI??

it would be nice to have control of them personally. rather than them defaulting to the computer and it gets them all killed. i know the 20 unit stack limit was in MTW. are we not capable of controling more units/armies. and to me personally this would really up the challange.

If you had counted more carefully, you'd have seen that the AI also has a 20 unit limit. Upon viewing an AI army, the units are displayed in rows of nine each - that's why two "extra" units appear in the third row.

Apart from that, I can't help you, sorry....

You can only control 20 units on a battle field at one time. If you uncheck AI control of the other units before the battle then they will wait off-screen until one of your 20 units is destroyed or routs off the map, at which time one unit will enter that map to replace it.

To the best of my knowledge all of that is hard coded.

    Nope.

But I try to have the AI control my re-inforcements in any case, particulalry on the field, by placing a General in the supporting army.

A general as in family member? I´d strongly advise against that; AI-controlled, these guys have a way of getting themselves killed. A normal captain will do just fine, I´ve never seen any substantial influence that generals have.

Its true that General's will normally have suicidal tendancies, but remember, they are reinforcements, and personally i'd rather my reinforcements arrived in a full stack controlled by an AI, rather than one-by-one under my control, as and when my units rout.

Nevertheless, A five star General or higher in a supporting army vastly improves the effectiveness of any reinforcements controlled by the AI.
