    Default Recommend a mod

BI isn't grabbing me and I've done RTW (+ mods). Thought I'd go back to MTW but with a mod. Can you recommand a good one? I don't have VI. I'd prefer a medieval setting, although are the LoTR mods ok?
    thanks for advice

    RTW Sucks!!

Recommendation is to get VI asap, as many, if not most, mods require it.

If all you're looking for is a little bit of *flavor*, then perhaps LOTR or another such mod will satisfy. Though, if what you crave is a greater challenge (not every does), then the MedMod is the ticket.

VI aside, you can try the MedMod, which has a pre-VI version: Medieval mod IV v1.85 for Total War v1.1

Scroll down to the third *heading*. The link to the Newby guide is broken, but make sure you read the ReadMe

Again, its highly recommended to get VI, which can probably be had for US$10 or less.

The next test is the MedMod 3.14; strive with honor.

Unnfortunately on this exact detail, toranga is'n quite accurate. VI as a stand-alone package was discontinued when the battle collection (containing the original and the expansion) went on the market. E-Bay has some copies but for some reason must be imported form either UK or AUS. Electronics Boutique may have a copy, but it's running at $14.95US if it can be found. Best bet is to go to best buy and get the entire package for 20 bucks.
