I've only noticed it when fighting against cannon and catapult towers, it's nothing really major sicne your castle doesn't get destroyed if they fail anyways.
Fighting isn't about winning, it's about depriving your enemy of all options except to lose.

It can be major if the enemy is hammering at your gate from one side and your own catapult tower it hitting your gatehouse from the other side!
The short answer to that question is no. The only thing that would work is redesigning all castles. However, since castle attacks by the A.I. are rare and the computers castles suffer from the same blindness for its own structures, the feature works in you advantage as well.Originally Posted by M.A.D.

The AI's attempt to get into a multilayer castle large enough to see the effects of your own towers damaging the castle will still be costly. Many time their wonderful gate breaking technique of run everyone up and get oil poured on them can kill many more than the tower will in a usual battle. If you retreat to the inner layer of the larger castles, often the AI must go through 3 gates, which will leave hordes of dead at each gate.

It wouldn`t have half as bad if you could choose who to consentrate the fire on. Not having control really works against you.
