    This is an old Thread, but wish to share a thought: I think the Medieval era should be considered finished by 1492, when Columbus reached America - not that I am Mexican and feel something special about it.

    Historicaly, I remember nothing really important added historical facts troughout those following years from 1453-1492, so I consider the same era to follow.

    I think there's a way to mod this date - if anyone knows how I think I'll do - but this could be also considered a fact to end the Medieval Era in history.

    Well, the middle ages were pretty much over by then. The Black Death killed the feudal structure and caused service to be bought by the highest bidder. The printing press was invented around then. Constantinople fell and the Renaisance started.
    Fighting isn't about winning, it's about depriving your enemy of all options except to lose.
