I'm playing a muslim empire for the very first time(Almohad). So far so good. I play campaign on glorious achievements and I rank second (damn you Byzantine).
Anyway, I'm still, slowly but surely, taking over Spanish and Aragonese kingdoms. I captured a lot of soldiers. I enslaved most of the time. I'm guessing it affects my general's dread as similar to executing them. My question is; since they're not executed, if there's a rebellion in the province will there be more rebels?

It works just the same as execution, just with a muslim flare. Enslave to increase loyalty by cowing the populace; release to increase happiness; enslave ringleaders to do neither.

Only with the islamic factions and it does the same as execution so there is no real difference

So the number of slaves doesn't affect the number of people rebelling when there's a rebellion then? I assume so. Thanks a lot.

If you enslave them they cannot get away. However if you let them be ransomed they can go back to their former armys thus being able to attack you again. See what i'm saying?

Keep them.

No. It is just another way of putting the "execution" command when crushing a rebellion.

You only ransom your enemies when they are belonging to a faction, not the rebels. Mind you, if you
don't kill rebel prisoners before the battle ends, their lands will be confiscated, which brings you money without returning the soldiers to the enemy. So it is better to leave them alive: pressing the kill button will cost you money.

There is one difference between executing and enslaving.
When you execute the prisoners, your governor or king will receive the "Swift Justice" vice which eventually evolves into "Random Justice" (-50% happiness). On the other hand, if you constantly release the prisoners, you will get the "Occasional Mercy" line of V&V's.
Enslaving will give you neither. Muslims, AFAIK, don't get either of these vice lines.
