Thread: RTW Tactics

    Default RTW Tactics

Hello all. I play TW since Shogun TotalWar. the reason i love totalwar is tactics and reality of the game. i know this must be talked about long time ago, but because i stopped playing for months due to family, work, and study. But i was thinking days ago to allocate a few days in each month to play it.

I remember how hard it was to use tactics on battlefield in Rome TotalWar because of their speed where it used to be a lot easier in MTW, i believe this must had its time it took for discution to solve this problem. I searched the archive but no success.

Would any body please enlight me for how to solve this problem. they are so fast on battle field and loose formation easy that even after i win the battle, i don't feel the same when winning in MTW.

    I appriciate any help

Get RTR until EB comes out. Then get EB. This guy doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

I hope this doesn't degenerate into a "RTR vs EB" thread.

I haven't tried either mod, but I have heard that battle speed is somewhat slower in RTR (Rome Total Realism), so perhaps that's your best solution. It can be downloaded here.

By the way. welcome to the .org, Red-Hunter. How come you only have one post and you're a full member already? Congratulations!

Yes, try Rome Total Realism. Things do happen a little too fast in RTW vanilla. Even if you pause a lot - like I do - the fast speed reduces the immersion. With RTR, I find I have time to zoom in and enjoy the amazing graphics.

RTR v6.0 also has the added benefit of introducing some good looking new units and re-jigging the factions to make them more historical. Personally, I think RTR makes RTW as tactical and as fun as MTW.

    Just get Mordred's mod

This mod was designed to make the battlefield tactics as good as possible with the present AI. No other mod has been designed with that as the objective. This was done with as few changes to normal RTW as possible. The SP campaign has also been enhanced.

This mod is a relatively small 11 MB download, and installs into RTW without overwriting it. You can play regular RTW with its normal desktop shortcut or play the mod by choosing the new desktop shortcut that the install places there.

_________Designed to match Original STW gameplay.

    Greetings all,

Thank you very much everybody for the replies, i'll definatly do what you guys mentioned, i can't wait to play it again.

actually the main reason i play Total War series is the tactics and only becasue of tactics, so i was a little dissapointed when i played the Rome series.

anyway thank you very much & i hope to become a friend to you
