Everytime I click the Chat link above I get the error :
"Startup error:java.lang.Error:Unknown configuration property UseInfo"
I already have an updated Java. The error sounds something about the language. Any help possible ?

What version of Java do you have?
WHAT?!?!?! Doth thee sayeth that the Org revolves not around the backroom, but the backroom about the Org!?! Prithee, open your heretical mouth no more! The high priests of backroomism* will swiftly deal with you!So for a change, Backroomers, let us not assume that we are the center of TosaInu's universe and be content with the Backroom as it is.

To the topic, I must say I'm against this. It'd just be a stupid spot with crappy threads that would only create dislike for one's fellow Orgerine and the vile would spill forth into other areas.
The tavern is a fine place as it stands. Except, of course, that you can't buy beer. But I'll let that slide.

Ja Mata, Tosa.
The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder
Now that is an issue that requires some attention. What is a tavern without beer, ale and hard liquor (for the backroom)?Originally Posted by Crazed Rabbit
It is just an idea that may be worth trying. For long time members, of course. Make it a year and half membership, hell two years if you really want to be restricitve or 2,000 posts. Or 3,000. Whatever.
I just think that a place to get a tad more ridiculous might be interesting and productive. I have been in heated debates myself in the backroom and have obviously crossed the line a few times.
It might be a novel experiment to see what happens. If the lords of the Org say Nay, then so be it, I'll drop the subject. But this is the watchtower, so I am just making a suggestion. Hell, I'm glad I'm even able to do that and actually get a response.
Either way, the Org is still the best forum out there.![]()
Yeah, lets give the mods even more work. They will not only have to moderate a ridiculously flamefilled forum, they will also have to check a users post history. The idea just makes no sense to me, the idea of a discussion forum is to have a discussion, not a shouting match. If you can't reason your way through a debate maybe you shouldn't be in it.Originally Posted by Divinus Arma

TosaInu and others are correct. It will spill over.
After all, look at the attitudes of deference and humility some new members show in their intial posts. Once they get into that backroom, it's all downhill.
This would include me. At this point most of this spillover is simply excess fun. Hell, just look at my drunken posts! That's just me being an idiot and losing my dignity!
I fear that if we had a backbackroom, then the spillover would not be "fun" or innocent mischief. The spillover would be anger, spite, and vengeance.
And that... in all circumstances is completely unacceptable. I am far too fond of the Org to condone anything that may lead to intentional wrongs.
TosaInu, you have a fine site here. I am freshly impressed.![]()

Yes, I got really annoyed at that "IBM can helpeth" commercial, too.
I am against the discrimination of low-post members from the post-every-second ones.
One can easily make "blank" posts to find 2000 by sometime. The post count does not, in any means, assure the characteristical reliability of a patron. And that opinion of mine will be the same when I have 2000.
@NeonGod
It is Java 1.5 and says nothing essential is needed to update.
