    Default 512x512 Skins

Just wondering, are there problems in connection with using twice as large images for skins to units?

Never experienced a problem with it myself. Max scales any uv maps to your texture so don't worry. However your file sizes will go up, and don't underestimate this, and in addition, theres only so much detail you can achieve in the RTW engine.

Also, bear in mind, that you are NOT doubling the size... it's actualy 4 times bigger in terms of the amount of system resource being used. This is fine for people with decent. modern graphics cards, but will do serious harm to game performance for those with less RAM on their Gfx cards. Thats why CA used 256x256.

So...if you plan on distributing your skins afterwards, make sure you tell people they are larger than stock!

    thank you very much

It's so nice to work with larger skins, also they look a little better (at least in max ). File size issue is okay, and regarding performance I was a little worried half of the players wouldn't be able to play if the skins was large.

good to know it's not a huge problem.
