Default Battle_Editor... Need help to enable it...

    Hi...
Total newbie here. Installed the RTW patch 1.2... but can't enable it. Instructions say:
"Edit your desktop shortcut to run Rome with, "-enable_editor" on the command line."
    ...What bloody "command line"...
Please help as I'm trying to impress my son... THX!

Enabling the Rome - Total War Battle Editor is very easy. Just follow these simply steps to activate the Battle Editor so that you can select it when in the game.

Users who have a Rome - Total War icon on their desktop:

    1. Move you mouse over the icon and press the right mouse button
    2. From the menu that pops up, select the option Properties to display the icon properties panel
    3. Where it says Target:, type in -enable_editor after the last quote. Make sure you include a space before the hyphen. For example:
    "C:\Program Files\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -enable_editor
    4. Click Apply and the OK

Users who do not have a Rome - Total War icon on their desktop:

    1. Open the folder where you have installed Rome - Total War
    2. Click and hold the right mouse button over the RomeTW.exe file, drag it to your desktop and then release the right mouse button
    3. From the menu that pops up, select Create Shortcuts Here
    4. Rename the icon to Rome - Total War
    5. Move you mouse over the icon and press the right mouse button
    6. From the menu that pops up, select the option Properties to display the icon properties panel
    7. Where it says Target:, type in -enable_editor after the last quote. Make sure you include a space before the hyphen. For example:
    "C:\Program Files\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -enable_editor
    8. Click Apply and the OK

This is taken from my Rome - Total War Battle Editor for Dummies manual, which I am currently in the process of writing and going bald over!

    Cheers

No problem at all. Pleased to help. Let me know how you get on with the editor and any problems you encounter.

I'm currently putting together a manual for the editor, but progress is being held up by some really annoying issues. I'll let you know when and if it gets finished.

    Cheers

hi Regia, it appears youre quite experienced with the Battle editor so im hoping you can help me with a problem. Im attempting to create some new historical battles using this editor for the Europa Barborum mod, however weve ran into a problem at the first hurdle. after enabling the editor, i open my options menu and select it, the EB campaign map appears for me to select a location to create a battle, once i try to load this location the game ctd`s. Im not sure how the mod could have affected the editor, perhaps its just incompatible with anything other than the original map. Anyways could you please give me some pointers as to what to look for that could be causing this? any help is much appreciated
