the mongol empire was in existence from roughly 1200-1500

the 2 invasions of japan were in 1270's.

firearms never came to japan till 1540's at least 30 years after the last mongols had ever lived.and if it is starting in the 1270's when the mongols really did invade then guns won't appear for another 270 years.

so in the add on how can we have gunner units facing the mongols?

    archers yes'gunners no!!!!!

I'm not sure. There were some .mov file that showed musket units in play against new units, but these were in all probability taken from a multiplayer or custom battle game. The same with all the working screenshots from various gaming sources. I have yet to see any screenshots that feature Mongol units (ie. icons at the bottom of the screen) so there's no telling right now.

on this topic and also the topic of mixing mongol/korean/japanese units is it going to be possible to have the option to make the game historically accurate and also the option to break all history'realistic superman errors and make the game silly'but fun as it appears to be heading?

so the game can be turned to realistic or non realistic

There can never be too many options. Let's hope we get a lot of them.

The Mongol Invasion campaign starts in 1274 or thereabouts, so it's unlikely anyone will play it long enough to see the Portuguese / Dutch arrival.

MP has an overwhelming advantage over SP in that you can agree with your opponent on as many issues as you like. Incorporating a "historical restriction" option on MP single battles would be a tad unnecessary (although there's no reason it should *not* be included), as you can simply say in the pre-game chat "let's use historical rules, (URL of rule set)" "ok". This doesn't work if you can't trust your opponent to honor an agreement, but who wants to play against someone like that anyway?
